Well, evidently feeling that a spot of limelight wouldn’t go a miss, the Satanistas de España, which is the only such association officially recognised by the Ministry of the Interior, said that the ultra-Catholics don’t know what they’re talking about.

The Spokesperson for the said association… or club… said that upside-down crosses are one of the many fallacies concerning the worship of Satan.

“The inverted crosses are one of the many clichés popularised in films and the Media, however, Satanists normally don’t understand, much less use, this as satanic symbolism,” read their statement to the press.

Not wanting to miss the opportunity to promote the association, they promised to supply very shortly a list of what are the main symbols linked to the the worship of Satan.

But you don’t have to take their word for it that the ultra-Catholics have got it all wrong because, as one of our readers commented under our original article, an inverted cross is a sacred Christian symbol.

All of this won’t help the Mayor in the eyes of the ultra-Catholics, who have accused him of being a satanic follower, because, they’ll no doubt go into a frenzy of indignation that the satanist association has seemingly joined ranks with the Mayor!
