The Tourist Board for Almuñécar and La Herradura are promoting the municipality far and wide, this time in Gothemburg in Sweden.
This location was chosen because it is where most Swedish tourists come from when they visit Almuñécar, so using street-advertising methods the hope is to increase further their numbers for this Costa Tropical destination.
Each one of the four, large-format screens around this Swedish city will play promotional video clips 720 times a day.
By the time that the campaign ends, they’ll either be booking flights to spend their holidays in Almuñécar and La Herradura or will be driven insane and roll around in a gnashing fit at the very mention of the name… damned cunning, eh?
Readers will remember that Almuñecar also ran a promotion campaign with advertising on the sides and backs of London buses – rumours that this sparked Brexit are unfounded.
In the meantime, Councillor for Tourism, Daniel Barbero, has held talks with Emanuel Karlsson, who is the CEO for Rolfs Flyg & Buss and Solresor, the top, Swedish, tour operators. The Chairman of the Almuñécar Tourist Board, Felipe Puertas, says that both tour operators are responsible for a large number of over-night stays on the Costa Tropical over the course of a year.
