OK, living on the Costa Tropical you see the idea of snowfall as something special - in more northern climes, it can be a pain, but even so...
The Agencia Estatal de Meteorología (AEMET) has forecast snowfall for 26 municipalities in Granada between today and Sunday, as snow is expected from 1,100 metres upwards. Temperatures will range between daytime highs of 10ºC and nighttime temperatures of a big, fat, zero on your pampered thermometer.
Even for those places where they will not have a chance to throw snow balls and wrap up warm, there will be rainfall, which; let’s face it, is so badly needed.
So, without further ado, here are the 26 municipalities:
Albuñán, Aldeire, Alpujarra de la Sierra, Alquife, Bubión, Busquístar, Bérchules, Capileira, Cogollos de Guadix, Diezma, Dólar, Ferreira, Gor, Jerez del Marquesado, Juviles, La Calahorra, La Taha, Lanteira, Lugros, Montejícar, Murtas, Polícar, la Puebla de Don Fadrique, Pórtugos, Torre-Cardela and Trevélez.
I’m writing this in La Taha (Pitres) on a working holiday, togged out for the occasion and enjoying the cold and snow-embellished landscapes.
