Marina Promotional Campaign

The Almuñécar Tourist Board has launched a campaign to promote the Marina del Esta using the slogan, "Vamos a Vernos Más."

LHR Marina del Este Promotional BillboardThe campaign consists of using billboards with a large photgraph of the marina, as well as using social media.

But it’s not only about the Marina but also all the related businesses connected with the port, such as diving schools, restaurants, shops, accommodation, real-estate agents and leisure in general.

According to the Councillor for Tourism, Daniel Barbero, “Marina del Este is the only marina on the Costa de Granada, situated as it is in an area of natural beauty, which makes it even more attractive for the sailing & watersports sector.”

The Marina de Este has 227 berths for craft with a maximum length of 30 metres, as well as a dry-dock installation for repairs etc.

I would like to point out an opportunity that we are missing. It is now the season where dolphins are returning to our waters and shores. Now I have seen people throwing stones at these creatures when they come close to shore, tourists either chasing them or trying to run with them on jet skis. I ask you to please stop this practice as you are ruining a money making opportunity for Almunecar to offer tourists a real treat. We could be offering them a chance to visit the dolphins as well as a hopeful return of the whales in the Mediterranean to our waters. Many coastal communities have seen the arrivals of sea life as an opportunity to make many euros in offering tours, but if you drive them away you are literally taking money away from our tourism platforms. If we want a marina this could be a vital piece to help pay for it and give our diving outfits another Avenue for a new revenue stream. People please rethink what your accomplishing here by not adopting a relationship with the sea life that lives here.

Ditto the above comment. Uneven sidewalk, overgrown vegetation, unswept, no street lights. No interest in going down there.

I think a park & ride scheme would need to be adopted due to the camper van site (beach car park) being full “even at this time of year” also the number of Dive school vehicles which seem to increase in size by the day and constantly block the entrances to the beach. A simple solution would be to erect height barriers at the entrance and exit to the car park.

It would be great news for residents of the marina and visitors if the Town Hall would spend money refurbing the road, pavements and street lights on the Ave Marina Del Este as it’s in an awful state of repair and dangerous for pedestrians and young families with plans etc.We all pay our IBI,s but why ?????
