Guilty of Call-Girl Swindling

SAL Call GirlA man has just been sentenced to 2-years’ imprisonment by the Málaga Provincial Court for failing to pay a call girl in Salobreña.

He had been found guilty of fraud, despite his plea for his condition of being a drug addict to be taken into consideration.

The Tribunal considered that the accused had “knowingly hired a call girl knowing full well that he was not going to pay for her services.” The agreed fee for the said service had been 2,250 euros.

The method of payment was to use a cashpoint (ATM) to submit an envelope containing the said sum, together with an additional amount of 600 euros. This additional amount would be returned to the client on the day of the ‘date.’

The date was for the 16th of April, 2017 and the woman duly arrived – the call-girl company believed that the sum had been paid in, whereas the man had really submitted only an empty envelope. Consequently,  the girl ‘returned’ his 600-euro deposit.

Amazingly, he employed the same tactic twice, each time making 600 euros instead of paying out 2,850 euros.

Now, writing this I remembered that a similar incident had occurred in Motril, and sure enough I found the article, which was from the previous year, 2016.

Editorial comment: the method of payment seems to be a very slapdash affair. How was it that the company didn’t discover that the envelope did not contained the agreed sum? Surely they would insist on the money registering in their bank account before refunding money?
