The Motril paint shop, Pinturas Antequera, on Avenida de Europa (in front of Al Campo) was turned over in the early hours of Friday the 30th.
Around 04.00h a neighbour raised the alarm after hearing the shattering of glass from the shop window below.
The thieves had used sledgehammers to gain entrance via the shop window, explained the shop owner, Alberto Antequera: “They knew exactly what they were looking for and went straight to the main cash register and stole the till. Fortunately, they didn’t cause any other damage,” he said.
The Policía Nacional have begun an investigation into the burglary, inspecting the scene of the crime and interviewing the neighbour who had seen two men coming out of the shop from his balcony.
