mot-bus-station-inauguration-01-onlLast weekend saw acts of vandalism being carried out in Motril’s new bus station. The Policía Local had been called out to the bus depot on Saturday the 9th after a disturbance had broken out there.

When they arrived, they were informed by the ticket seller that a man, belonging to a group of four, had vandalised a ticket-vending machine and other property in the bus station.

The Councillor for Citizen Safety, María Ángeles Escámez, explained that after causing the damage the culprit had fled before the police arrived.

Whilst the police were busy taking statements at the bus station, other police patrols were alerted to the culprit’s description and soon came across the man, not far from the scene of the incident, arresting him.

The man, who is of no fixed abode, has been charged with the damage caused and appeared before a magistrate on Monday morning.
