The regional representative of the Central Government, Antonio Sanz, announced that Madrid would be spending nearly 47m euros on coastal repairs.
As for the Costa Tropical, it will receive 1,120,000 euros of the above sum – the majority of the 46.670,000 euros is going to the more badly hit coastlines of Huelva and Cádiz.
The 1.1.m will be spent on trucking in sand to Playa Granada and Playa La Cagailla, in Motril and Salobreña, and for the repairs to the groyne and sea wall along Paseo Reina Sofía in Almuñécar.
In the words of Delegate Antonio Sanz the work will commence just as soon as the weather permits; i.e., when we have the spring gales behind us.
He also expressed praise for himself, his party and the Prime Minister, Mariano Rajoy.
