It was one evening on the seafront road of Torre del Mar in the middle of April when a woman driver pranged a borrowed BMW.

Apart from returning the car in a far worse condition than she had borrowed it, there was also the little matter of having no driving licence nor any real experience behind the wheel. Oh, and driving under the influence.

Apparently, she lost control of the vehicle, swerving into the oncoming traffic, colliding with a an Opel Corsa, in which were travelling a pregnant woman and her 5-year-old daughter, both of whom were injured.

Not content, the BMW commanded by a bewildered & boozed driver, bumped across the pavement and wrapped itself around a large, surprised tree.

There were literally hundreds of pedestrians enjoying the paseo at the time who witnessed the car crash.

The woman has been charged with dangerous driving, drink driving and driving without a valid licence.
