Twenty-four hours after the blast in a bar in Vélez Málaga, there remain eight people hospitalized in the area hospital.

But the person whose condition is the most serious is precisely the cook whose warning saved the disaster from having even greater negative proportions. As it is, the list of injured has reached 90, as opposed the 74 reported yesterday.

The cook, a woman of Moroccan origin, remains in a grave state of health in the ICU of the Hospital Comarcal de Axarquia. Two male victims are also in the ICU but they will be moved to a ward later today.

In the meantime, the Town Hall is waiting for the fire department and police reports to confirm exactly what happened, although it is nearly 100% certain that it was a gas leak in the kitchen.
