A British man has died whilst walking the famous Camino de Santiago. As yet unidentified, the man appears to have succumbed to the heat whilst walking alone.

The tragedy occurred on Sunday 4th September, near the town of Castiblanco de los Arroyos.

It appears that the man became unconscious in temperatures over 40º and was found by other walkers who immediately called 061 to alert the emergency services.

Unfortunately, the medical crew were only able to certify the man’s death.
