Salobreña Cabinet Reshuffle

The Mayor of Salobreña, Gonzalo Fernández Pulido, called a press conference to announce changes in the municipal governing council or cabinet.

Councillor for Education and Culture, Antonio Rabaneda, had decided to stand down for personal reasons. His place as a councillor will be taken by Manuel Guirado, who is the Cabinet Chief and General Secretary of the Young Socialists for Salobreña.

Sr. Rabaneda’s resignation will cause a general reshuffle within the council, so it won’t be a straight swap.

Mayor Fernández Pulido had words of praise for Sr. Rabaneda, who is a retired school teacher, considering his contribution to the Department of Culture as very positive, leaving behind him an indelible mark upon in the Town Council and the town in general.

Sr. Rebaneda was equally generous in his farewell speech, proclaiming the present town council as the “best in the history of democracy.”

As for Sr. Manuel Guirado, his previous post as cabinet chief will be eliminated, after he is sworn in as a municipal councillor.

Finally, the Mayor said that he would be announcing the new make-up of the governing council or cabinet in the following days.
