During the course of 2012, Nerja saw twelve productions being filmed in the area and 2013 is developing along the same lines.

The Councillor for Tourism, Benardo Pozuelo, says that Nerja has already received several requests to be used as a filming location. In fact, in the coming days two film companies will be working in Nerja: one for a fashion company and the other will be working on a spot for a multinational company. The streets and most emblematic locations in the town, including its beaches, have been chosen as locations.

The film crew working on the publicity spot for the multinational comprises of a crew of 40, amongst whom are two actors: a woman and a young boy who will play mother and child.

The fashion company, on the other hand, is a French one and comprises of a team of six, including photographers and models.
