Sewage Appearance

It’s always the same old story: summer comes, drains overflow. The result is that locals have been complaining that sewage has been getting into the sea, which is hardly surprising as the village’s sewage network is 30 years old, and think how much extra housing has been built since it was laid down.

Not Quite Right

How is it that nobody has seriously complained about the state of the Blue Zone parking area in the village? I mean, with the indecent amount that is made by the company that manages the Blue Zones over the last year, how is it that they cannot afford to tarmac areas?

Magic at the Mirador

(NW) Well what a successful afternoon was had at the Mirador de Cerro Gordo on Saturday 10th July. The charity event was organised by Anne and Keith Harwood who raised a grand total of 2020 euros on the day, in aid of the Gastro-intestinal cancer fund.

Baracoa Fundraiser

Joaquín from El Chambao de Joaquín held his annual fund-raising event on July 23rd and 24th at Plaza Nueva in La Herradura. From what I have been told, the fund-raiser was to assist the town of Baracoa in Cuba with funding for social installations such as schools and hospitals.

ArteCalle

A very exciting art project called ArteCalle has been developing over the past couple of months in La Herradura.

Starfish Shines

If you don’t already know about the Starfish Project, which started in La Herradura in March this year, here is a little bit more information for you.
