In over thirty years on this part of the coast, I have never seen so many people turn out for a La Herradura Romeria, which this year was held in the grounds of the restored castle (tower).
The village was alive with colour, horses, gypsy dresses and humming with the ‘alegria’ that has been missing since the crisis began.
The inauguration of the castle included an open air theatre play, enacted in the inner courtyard, in which local actors brought to life episodes of the castle’s history.
All round, the Romeria was a tremendous success with a huge turn out.
¡Enhorabuena La Herradura!
