Gelibra & Rio Seco Alto Work

The Almuñécar Town Hall has busy up in Río Seco Alto and Gelibra, sorting the tracks out, as part of the Planes de Obras y Servicios Provinciales, Belonging to the Agricultural Board of the Junta de Andalucia, through which funds are made available for the improvement of rural-lane networks.

The Izquierda Unida councillor, Fermín Tejero, has denounced the fact that the Los Corrales project in La Herradura has not stirred in five years. According to the said councillor, the inactive state of the project is down to bad management on the part of the previous municipal administration under Juan Carlos Benavides.

Hiker Rescued on Cerro Gordo

Members of the Guardia Civil, Protección Civil and Almuñécar-based firemen were involved in the 2-hour rescue operation, which did not prove to be a simple affair owing to the difficult nature of the terrain.

Barrio Espinar Facelift

The new team at the Town Hall wheel are keen to leave their mark on La Herradura, which can been seen with the recent activity in Barrio Espinar.

First of all, the steps that lead from the barrio up to Camino Real are having new paving stones laid. Secondly, the little gardens are being tidied up and replanted and finally the walls that run down the stream bed have been re-painted.

La Herradura Paseo Lighting

The Caleta or Punta de la Mona end of the Paseo de Andrés Segovia has had its street lighting installations improved. The First Councillor for the village, Juan José Ruiz Joya, explained how four new lampposts had been installed between Hotel Los Fenicios to just past Chambao de Joaquín.
