For our none-native, English speakers, when you say that something is ‘on the cards,’ it means that it is foreseeable and almost inevitable, but what happened in a bar in Almuñécar, during a game of cards, was certainly ‘not on the cards,’ and is a reminder that disaster stands behind just about any quotidian gesture or action.

Five policemen are in the process of being tried in Mijas, charged with drug trafficking. These members of the Policia Local intercepted 170 kilos of hashish, but instead of turning the confiscated drugs over, they allegedly loaded them into patrol cars, took them to a private address and set about selling them.

Seven Arrested in Drug Bust

The Policia Nacional arrested seven people, the majority of whom are from Almuñécar, in an anti-drugs police operation carried out in this coastal town. Some of those arrested belong to the same family.

Almuñécar Indecent Exposure Arrest

A 31-year-old Almuñécar man has been arrested, accused of exposing himself to a child in the street.
The Guardia Civil actually posted vehicles on all the exit roads of the town following the incident, including some rural lanes in a hastily put together operation to catch the alleged sex offender.

Thief Couldn’t Live With His Conscience

When a man walked into the Guardia Civil post in Almuñécar to confess to four robberies that had taken place two years earlier, to say that the policemen were surprised would be an understatement, but there he was, explaining that he couldn’t live with his conscience and wanted to make a signed confession.
