The Guardia Civil maritime customs unit has arrested two British men after they searched their yacht in Marina del Este and found two tonnes of Hashish.

The actual arrests took place Thursday afternoon after police from the SVA (Servicio de Vigilancia Aduanera) decided to move in after staking out the suspected craft.

After a thorough search the police found 70 packages of hashish hidden under false decking.

The case, which will be handled by the Almuñecar law court, has a gagging order and further arrests have not been ruled out.
