Shopping Night Blackout

After a warning from the Mayor of Almuñécar that there should be no blackouts like last year and a promise from Endesa that there wouldn’t be… there was, on the 8th.

Baza Forlorn

Endesa has closed down its offices in Baza, which served the whole of the altiplano; i.e. north-east Granada. Now users up there will have to travel to Guadix to sign electricity contracts etc.

Town Hall Electric Cut

(Metropolitan Granada) The Town Hall of Otura had its electricity supply cut for a few hours as a warning over its unpaid electricity bill. The staff saw all their computers and other electrical equipment, as well as the lights, die for a period of one hour – the point had been made.

The Electricity Rebellion II

Last month we reported on two Alpujarreños that had rebelled against Sevillana/Endesa’s haughty disdain for its customers. Well, their stance has attracted the support of many locals.

Electricity Strike!

No, we don’t mean that the utility companies are going on strike, but that the electricity consumers in Órgiva have been blacking out their homes in protest over the ‘arrogance’ of Sevillana-Endesa.
