Salobreña Town Hall is incensed with the power cuts experienced in town over last weekend, the 25th and 26th July.

The Councillor for Tourism and Beaches, Manuel Guirado, described the successive power outages, which affected both the beach area and the town centre, as “inadmissible.”

Local businesses in the hostelry trade are not happy bunnies, either, who, whilst they accept the inevitability of the odd power cut, but not a whole string of them over Saturday and Sunday.

Consequently, formal complaints have been sent to Endesa/Sevillana, both by the Town Hall and local business associations.

Little did the talks with the utility company achieve last year, it appears, when the company promised that it would look into ways of preventing power cuts during peak holiday periods.
