El Canuelo, Maro

The Nerja Town Hall has petitioned the regional Board of Agriculture, Fishing and Environment for permission to install sunbeds and suitable shade on Playa de El Cañuelo; the beach concerned lies within protected parkland (Paraje Natural Acantilados de Maro- Cerro Gordo).

Safer Beaches

The Mancomunidad has spent 100,000 euros on marking out the beach approach lanes for boats and other sea craft; we’re talking about the lanes marked out by twin lines of buoys that indicate the only place that you can beach or launch a boat from.

San Juan Restrictions

The Mayor of Almuñécar, Trinidad Herrera, has just issued a municipal decree concerning ‘the appropriate use of beaches during the traditional celebration of San Juan.’
