Cotobro Beach Railings Installed

There has always been a fun drop available for the unwary, unwitting and unwanted, from the Cotobro beach road to the beach below, owing to a ridiculously narrow pavement and a sadistic lack of fencing.

Now, thanks to the spoil-sport efforts of the Town Hall, it will be safe to lay your towel in the shadow of the wall, without having a family of tourists falling onto your wife – not recommended for all concerned.

Sixty metres of safety railing are being installed by the La Herradura-based company, Talleres Chico, anchored down the side of the seawall, from one set of beach-access steps to the other. These posts will be linked by a bloody-great, long chain, which hopefully will be at a height that will save you going over, rather than being so low that they trip you up and over.

Anyway, good move, about time, and well done. By the way, who is that hogging the photograph?
