Well, there has been plenty of revamping work going on during the winter and spring along the streets of La Herradura to show off to the summer visitors… if they come.
The latest modifications have reached the campsite, half way along Paseo de Andrés Segovia, as part of a process to sort out the pavements and planted areas, starting from where the Rambla del Espinar reaches the beach road.
The First Councillor for the village, Ruiz Joya, explained that the planted areas along the paseo had become overgrown, which is one of the reasons that they have been eliminated. They have also tried to impose a bit of uniformity, as the width of the pavement varied along its length.
For the time being, with this last section concluded, work will stop until after the summer, before carrying on along further westward. Sr. Ruiz pointed out that over the decades the original pavement has deteriorated greatly, with some parts of the curb disappearing completely, so this facelift is long overdue.
