Citizen Advice Bureau Deficiencies

At the moment, the Almunecar Town Hall has an Atención a Los Consumidores y Usuarias service, thanks to an agreement with the Unión de Consumidores de Granada (UCA). This service is basically a citizens’ Advice Bureau; i.e., somewhere where people can obtain information concerning their rights as consumers and lodge complaints against abuses.

Sad New Record

Perhaps the classic AC/DC number can best sum up where the A-7 peters out into the N-340… Highway to Hell.

Reina Sofia Invites Top Chef

Miguel Castilla, owner of Restaurante Reina Sofia on the paseo of that same name, is always finding ways to bring new gastronomic ideas to Almunecar. For the second time, he has invited a top chef to come down to Almunecar and co-host a ‘gastronomic day.’

Desperate Arrivals

More or less since the late spring the eastern coast of Andalucia, including the Costa Tropical, has been receiving dozens of illegal immigrants in desperate conditions striving to reach land – undetected.

Costa Tropical Hotel Blues?

The 13th of August was the only day, so far, that hotels on the Costa Tropical were 100% full – campsites, however, have been full on the last two weekends at least.

Peña Escrita Under Scrutiny

The new municipal administration has decided to have a close look at the mountain park, Pena (Peña) Escrita because of its daily running costs and accrued fines to be paid.

Another Drowning

With the death of a 61-year-old man, this time in Almunecar, the Costa Tropical has registered three deaths through drowning in just two days.
