School Get-Together

The Almuñécar secondary school, IES Al Andalus, has played host to a group of teachers from The Queen Katherine, in Kendal, in Cumbria, UK.

Local, school Head, Manuel Gilabert, explained how both schools had been chosen as bilingual educational institutions and welcomed the visiting teachers: Stephen Roberts, Kate Hampshire, Rosie Wenner, Erika Reynolds and Keith Reynolds.

Al Andalus secondary school, one of 700 schools chosen in Andalucia, has operated under the bilingual programme for the last three years, which is a great bonus for Almuñécar.

The Seaside Gazette has a special link with this high school as the Publisher, Martin Myall, worked there back in the early 90’s, as a support teacher in the English Department.
