Rioting Organisation Cracked

The joint collaboration between two national and two regional police forces led to the arrets syesterday of eight young individuals, linked to the criminal activities of lootings and rioting in several in several cities around Spain.

The arrests (individuals aged between 16 and 20) were made across five provinces: Valencia, Barcelona, Bilbao, Málaga, and Tenerife.

The suspects belong to Blocus, an online platform using social media to coordinate widespread looting and rioting, timed specifically for Halloween night; i.e., tonight.

The arrests were the result of a crackdown following riots in Barcelona just one week prior, which resulted in 128 arrests (mostly minors) and the looting of 23 shops.

The 20-year-old Spanish founder of Blocus was arrested in Picanya, Valencia. He managed the communication networks, gave operational orders, and coordinated regional attacks.

The group used AI-generated posters, TikTok, and QR codes to recruit members. They explicitly instructed participants to carry school supplies and banners to fake a student protest, while wearing black clothes and masks to evade police identification.

A separate arrest involved an18-year-old taking place in Alfafar (Valencia) for actively inciting the creation and throwing of Molotov cocktails.

The crackdown took out the whole network, including chat administrators and local-movement leaders in Cataluña, Bilbao, Tenerife, and Málaga before they could execute the planned Halloween riots.
