Granada was rattled by a 4.2 (magnitude) earth tremor but this time with the epicentre out in the Mediterranean under the Mar de Alborán.
The seismic movement was not only felt along the Costa Tropical but also over on the coast of Almería because the epicentre was only two kilometres down.

According to the Instituto Geográfico Nacional (IGN), the seismic shift took place at precisely 22.38h lastnight.
The IGN lists the number of municipalities where locals reported the earth tremor, which not only includes the said coastal regions, but also the Alpujarras, as well as over the border on the Costa del Sol in the Province of Málaga.
Motril, for instance, was a town where lots of people phoned in reporting what they had experenced; in Los Tablones, la Perla de Andalucía, Puntalón, Varadero, Playa Granada and Calahonda. Calls also came in from Salobreña, Lobres, Almuñécar, La Herradura, Torrenueva, Gualchos-Castell de Ferro, Polopos, La Mamola, La Rábita, Jete, Vélez de Benaudalla and Molvízar
As for more inland, it was felt in Órgiva and Cádiar and even in Güéjar Sierra, although to a lesser degree in the last.
