Almuñécar Town Hall, through its Social Services Department plans to take pensioners over 55 years of age to the Balneario de Trillo (Guadalajara) and leave them there. OK, that’s a lie.
No, obviously they will also bring them back… after the families pay the ransom. OK, that’s another lie, or is it? Yes, of course it is!
Anyway, the trip is organised for the 14th of September and returning (if they are lucky) on the 19th but those that participate have to be pensioners over 55 and have officially lived in the municipality (empadronados) for at least five years up to April 2025, so if you lived in Almuñécar for five years but ten years ago, it doesn’t count, unless you make a donation to the councillor’s plans to build a pool in her back garden. OK, that’s another lie — my God! I’ve been infected by Trump! OK, that’s another lie, as well.
Mayor Juanjo José Ruiz Joya (the man voted most likely to be attacked by an Egyptian mummy whilst on the toilet) and the Councillor for Social Services, Mari Carmen Reinoso (voted the woman most likely to want her own swimming pool) said that the trip would be partly financed by municipal coffers (20%) and whilst covering the total costs of the chartered coach.
The total cost of the stay at this 4-star spa is 395 euros after applying the municipal discount. This covers the hotel stay with full board, daily access to the thermal baths, visits from the resident doctor, chats about health and excursions to Brihuega, Sigüenza, Guadalajara and Cuenca, as well as nightly visits to the local strip club… Might be lying!
