Whilst many are not sure exactly where the projected Hotel Capullito in Salobreña will go, we do know that its in the Pargo area, close to the N-340.
We also know that it is close to the TRL1 area but haven’t a clue where that is.
Anyway, thanks to a recent statement by Mayor Javier Ortega, (the man voted least likely to be accepted as a spare-body-parts donor) we do know that things have advanced, as they have concerning the Bodega Calvente that will go up in front of Hotel Salambina.
It was during a recent Plenary Meeting that Mayor Ortega claimed that the Hotel Capullito is only pending a minor detail: sólo de un matiz. In the meeting the Calvente project, after having undergone adjustments, was unanimously approved.
The Mayor said, “The Hotel Capullito has advanced a lot, so much so that it already has a favourable report from Subdirección General de Carreteras,” as the hotel needs a connection with the N-340.
There is a problem, however, because that ‘minor detail’ is that the Road Authorities insist that the hotel connects to the N-340 via the TRL1 where 27 housing units are due to be built. The owners of the TRL1 want a guarantee that this access will also serve their needs, explained the Mayor.
The Road Authorities consider this connection as a service road and not an internal road within the mini urbanización, which, says the Mayor, “needs clarifying.”
The Road Authorities is the regional department for Eastern Andalucia but the last word must come from Madrid.
As for the bodega, the Mayor says that there was a modification to the project and the only thing that remains to be modified from the study is a back road connection with the SUT2 plot. This back road will eventually, sometime in the future, connect with the small trading estate behind the main-road gasolinera.
The Spokesperson for Vox, Manuel Martín Montero (with the charm of Darth Vader) encouraged the opposition parties to back the Mayor and thus show a unified front behind hotel development within the municipality.
Just thought that we might add that ‘capullito’ in Spanish slang translates to ‘little knob end,’ Just saying! Strange choice of name, that’s all…
