Throw Back Fanatics

The Bishopric of Cuenca has decided to suspend a course for priests owing to the controversy and rejection expressed by the general public.

The 3-day course, which was to take start on the 21st of last month in the Iglesia San Fernando, had been organised by an ultra-Catholic group called Courage International, also known as religious nutters by anybody with any sense.

The course expounded that homosexuality is an illness and like alcoholism, should be countered with abstinence… and plenty of prayer in order to cure the victims.

Well, not before long people got to hear about what was going to be taught and street protests began, organised by the far-left Podemos branch in Cuenca and the Asociación transfeminista NosOtras.

Podemos Cuenca emphasised the LGTBIQ+ people are not sick nor suffer from any infirmity that requires treatment. “If anybody needs treatment, it’s the intolerant ones,” said its Spokesperson.

Now, you probably won’t be surprised to learn that Courage International was founded in the United States. Where is a face-palm emoji when you need one!
