Yet another car fire on the A-44, and again, within the municipality of Padul on the northbound lanes.

The car in flames did manage to catch shrubs alight next to the hard shoulder but fortunately it did not spread.

This incident took place around 14.20h and the driver managed to get out of the car before it became engulfed in flames.

According to the emergency-coordination centre of 112, fire vehicles from the city of Granada were despatched to deal with the situation, along with a Guardia Civil patrol to direct the traffic into a single lane.

We say, “yet again”, because another car went up in flames virutally in the same spot (kilometre point 146) around 13.50h… just half an hour before. Nobody was hurt in either incident.

Editorial comment: is it just me or are more vehicle catching fire this summer on the A-44 and A-7 within our province?
