Starting tomorrow at 17.00h, northbound traffic on the A-44 will have three lanes at its disposal, thanks to one of the southbound lanes being incoporated to this end.
This system, which will last until 22.00h and will be between kilometre points 183 (where the A-44 splits from the A-7 near La Gorgoracha) and 169 (the junction where the A-44 splits from the A-30 near Otura). This arrangement will be put into effect each Sunday during the rest of this month.
The trajectory will be marked with traffic cones and controlled via CCTV, so it is best to remember the restrictions that accompany this kind of system:
The maximum speed on the extra lane is 80 kph with a minimum one of 60 kph. No overtaking is permitted using the oncoming lane. Headlights must be on along the whole trajectory, even during daylight.
Furthermore, only cars and motorbikes can use it; cars towing trailers, lorries, large vans and buses cannot use the extra lane.
