The municipality of Almuñécar has set up a stand at the international tourism fair in Berlin, Germany.
The First Councillor for La Herradura, Daniel Barbero, was accompanied by the Head of the municipal Board of Tourism, Felipe Puertas, at the fair to “reinforce the presence of Almuñécar/La Herradura in the tourism sector.”
According to the Almuñécar team, German tourists make up 10% of international visitors to the municipality, which is why they have displayed their campaign slogans, Sumérgete (Submerge yourself) and Feel Tropical.
The international Tourism fair, ITB Berlin (Internationale Tourismus-Börse Berlin) is the world’s largest tourism, trade fair. The companies represented at the fair include hotels, tourist boards, tour operators, system providers, airlines and car rental companies.
ITB Berlin has been around since 1966 and has managed to establish satellite events in China, India and Singapore.
Daniel Barbero said, “Málaga Airport, which is under an hour away from Almuñécar/La Herradura, has flight connections with the main German airports, something that we are pushing as much as possible.”
