If it were not for a German resident out walking in the Gualchos area passing by a cortijo, a small dog that he came across would probably have died.

He saw the dog; a small Yorkshire Terrier (cross), convulsing on the road and didn’t think twice to scoop it up and take it to a vet in nearby Motril.

The dog, aged around five but with no microchip, was in a deplorable state, explained the veterinary surgeon, so Seprona, belonging to the Guardia Civil, were informed.

Consequently, they are investigating an individual, aged 63, believed to be its owner thus responsible for the state the dog was in and who could faces charges of animal cruelty through neglect. The dog was a bag of bones with sores all over.
