French Strikers vs Granada Lorries

A road-transport company on the Costa Tropical is just one of the Granada-based companies that are running foul of striking French farmers.

COS French Farmers Attack Spanish Lorry JA24One lorry driver from this Motril company had the back doors of his trailer ripped off by strikers using a tractor. They also slashed his tyres and threw stones and even a fire extinguisher at the cabin where he had taken refuge.

As for the load that he was carrying, it was lost because the protesters had emptied the said fire extinguisher all over it.

There is a video circulating on Tik Tok of this particular attack, which the lorry owner explained would cost him between 10,000 and 15,000 in repairs.

Editorial comment: French farmers are only to happy to export their products but don’t seem too keen on anybody importing products from anywhere else in Europe into France.

  1. Patrick Barry Storey says:

What they are saying, Martin, is that the Spanish and Italian exporters, either are too subsidised or not taxed the same as the French.

Of course, this used to happen when the British were part of the EU and lorries with lambs, sheep and pigs were set upon.

The French are pretty good at handing it out to easy targets. Always have been.
