We just checked the Sierra Nevada webcams and there is plenty of snow off the slopes; i.e., not provided by the snow cannons.
At the moment the temperature around the area of El Pico de Veleta is minus 8ºC and further down on the slopes (Borreguiles) it’s only minus 6ºC!
Here in Nigüelas (938 metres) there is a very fine snowfall that isn’t settling at the moment but precipitation (rain) is forecast for later.
Natural snow arrived late, considering that the ski resort opened on the 3rd of December, but it has arrived in time for the Three Kings bank holiday.
There are lots of people up there skiing despite the poor visibility (low clouds & snowfall).
Here’s a link to their webcams.
