Two muggers in Motril, both drug addicts, robbed a young victim, taking a booty of four euros and a mobile phone, after stabbing him in the arm with a knife.

This took place on the 14th of July 2019 around 03.30h on Calle Vílchez and the case has just come up. Owing to their condition as drug-dependents, their defence lawyer managed to get them off with only a three-year, six-month prison sentence for this case of armed robbery and grievous bodily harm.

The victim was accompanied by a friend at the time of the attack, but he managed to give them the slip.

The judge when deciding upon the severity of the sentence took into account their drug addiction as an attenuating circumstance but also the fact that they were repeat offenders was considered an aggravating circumstance.

Furthermore, besides the prison sentence, they will have to pay a fine of 90 euros each for the injury caused.
