The Almuñécar opposition party, PSOE, wants to know why the Altillo underground car park remains closed even though the flooding has disappeared.
It should be pointed out that parking there is possible if you own a parking bay within or you rent one through lease contract. However, if you don’t, and only intend to park a couple or hours or so, paying the appropriate parking fee, then you will have to look elsewhere.
The socialist Spokeswoman, Rocío Palacios, said that they had asked the governing party months ago to obligate the leaseholder of the parking facility to open it up to everybody.
She also said that she had recently visited the car park and found that the lower level no longer showed any signs of flooding.
“How is it possible that the governing party allows this parking, right in the heart of Almuñécar, to remain closed; a parking facility that is so necessary at the height of summer,” she asked.
She concluded that the Paseo del Altillo, underground car park joins the list of disasters, together with the Aquarium, the Jardín del Bonsai, the municipal, horse-riding stables (Picadero) the Parque Mediterráneo, Casa Morgan, the municipal plant nursery and the Horno de Cándida, all of which are closed at the height of the tourist season.

Thanks Patrick, I wasn’t aware Anything but Labour translated to cualquier cosa menos benny. 🤣
Bit like the Lib Dems cuddling up to or selling out to the Cons. A while ago.
Anything but Labour. ??
Our manifesto pledge on Student Loans never being part of our parties promises. Doh. Power sharing 😊 was the key. !!
Patrick: that’s not strictly true in Almuñécar; you can vote for the communist party IU-Podemos and they end up supporting a conservative Mayor to keep out a Juan Carlos Benavides. If you wanted the support a PP Mayor, you would have voted for them.
The voters have the power.
What you vote for. You get. !!
