Police operation, Anecile, launched by the Guardia Civl post of Salobreña resulted in the arrest of a suspect behind a cortijo robbery in Melicena.
The arrested man, aged 28 and of Moroccan nationality, has a criminal record, is suspected of making off with 4,000 euros in cash, jewellery and a starting pistol.
When the Guardia Civil inspected the scene of the burglary they found finger prints, which they sent off to their criminal investigation laboratory in the city of Granada. They soon matched the prints to the suspect
Armed with the identity of the supsect – who has no fixed abode – they tracked him down to Adra, just over the border with Almería, where he was arrested.
