The Regional High Court (TSJA) has confirmed the sentence handed down in Granada ordering Almuñécar Town Hall to compensate economically the Policia Local.

The sentence covers the period between 2015 and 2018 when officers belonging to the Policía Local were called upon to work excessive hours without overtime payment.

The opposition party, Convergencia Andaluza (who actually won the last elections but were unable to secure a working majority owing to a coalition aligned against them) were not slow to celebrate this judicial reverse for the Mayor:

“Yet another blow to the Herrera administration owing to her incompetence, meaning that the Town Hall faces millions in compensation, in this particular case, for the Policía Local,” reads the communiqué.

The CA also took the opportunity to criticise the left-wing coalition partners, for being the Mayor’s “silent accomplice.”
