3rd Covid Jab News

The National Health Committee for the Ministry of Health and its regional counterparts has given the go ahead for the 3rd jab for those aged between 40 and 59.

GRA Jab 3rdAccording to the said ministry, this back-up vaccination can be administered starting from six months after the person’s last jab.

Equally, they have authorised the administering of this extra jab for people under 60 years of ago who had previously received AstraZeneca, primarily essential workers such as teachers, fire personnel and police officers.

People within these sectors can receive the extra jab as of only three months after their last one.

Furthermore, those of any age who had previously received a single-dose Janssen vaccination should also receive another jab.

The Minister for Public Health, Carolina Darias, explained that to date over 81-million jabs had been administered meaning that the overall coverage in Spain stands at 89.6% of the target population (everybody over 11 years old.).

As for this back-up or ‘reinforcing’ jab, 80% of those over 70 had already received theirs and 46% of those over 60, as well as 49% of those that had previously had the single-dose vaccine, Janssen.
