A teenage lad came a cropper on his scooter on a roundabout in the centre of Motril yesterday after the bike slid from under him.

It was the Policía Nacional who first attended to him in his dazed state as he had hit the ground quite hard, apparently.

Whilst one officer carried out First Aid the other officer directed the traffic around the prostrate form of the 16-year-old victim by parking the patrol car across the lane, until an ambulance arrived to take him to Hospital Santa Ana.

The accident occured a little before eight in the evening on a roundabout in the east of town. The victim had not appeared to have broken any bones but there was a risk of concussion – he said that his head was aching and that he felt sleepy.

The police officer prevented him from falling asleep until the ambulance arrived, keeping an eye on his pulse and breathing.
