The body of a middle-aged woman was found dead in a house in Lentegí last night.

Reportedly, children playing in the street saw the body through a window and told some adults, who in turn informed the Guardia Civil.

It was 22.00h last night when the police gained entrance to the house where a 49-year-old, Swedish woman lives by herself. The body is thought to belong to this woman but it is not certain.

The body was found to be badly burnt but it is not known what the cause of death is until the autopsy report is issued. The body was taken to the Instituto de Medicina Legal in Granada for this purpose.

The Policía Judicial de Almuñécar, belonging to the Guardia Civil, is investigating the death. Unfortunately, there are conflicting reports; one source says that the body was found in a mummified state and had been dead for several months and that because of this the ID of the victim cannot be ascertained through fingerprints, for example. This second source also says that a couple out walking a dog discovered the body.
