Santa Falls off His Float

GRA Flying SantaA worker disguised as Father Christmas fell off a procession float yesterday morning in Armilla, just outside the city of Granada.

It was a little after midday when the emergency number 112 received a call to say that Santa had had an accident… No doubt there was the temptation to tell the caller to pull the other one.

But no, a Town Hall employee in a moment of unbridled zeal took a dive half way along Avenida Poniente, not far from the Town Hall itself. According to eyewitness, Santa suffered a two-metre fall after catching his foot on the raised, deck surrounding.

An ambulance was despatched, along with the Guardia Civil, the Policía Local and about a dozen elves. Unfortunately, Santa had a nasty gash on his scalp so he was taken to the nearby PTS general hospital in the city. His condition is said to be not serious.

Doubtless this is the fault of government introducing tougher ITV’s on vehicles over 20 years old, he never had these kinds of problems in his sleigh, which doubtless failed the exhaust emission test being too high in Methane, maybe for next year he’ll have to have Rudolf fitted with a catalytic converter?
