The Motril fire service was called out to tackle a fire in a bar, provoked by a malfunctioning deep, fat fryer. The affected bar is in Plaza del Tranvía.

Also called to the scene were the Policía Local who controlled the traffic, whilst the fire was being dealt with.

After a brief inspection, it was determined that a short-circuit in the fryer had caused it to burst into flames, causing damage to the kitchen area. Fortunately, nobody was hurt in the fire.
