A woman is being investigated in Pinos Puente under the country’s hate-crime law for mocking the death of a policeman from Coronavirus.
It was on the 6th of April that the 31-year-old woman was stopped by the Guardia Civil for breaking the Lock Down and was fined.
That same day on social media she wrote “They should all die; all of them so that none remain,” in response to the news of the death of a Guardia Civil office from Covid-19.
The Guardia Civil, upon having news of this statement reported it to their cyber crime division to find out who was behind this comment and other insults against the G.C.
Editorial comment: what the women said was heartless, hurtful and in extremely poor taste… but was it a crime? If it were, most stand-up comedians would be in jail, surely.
Lastly, and we quote from Wiki: On May 14, 2019, the Spanish Attorney General distributed a circular instructing on the interpretation of hate crime law. This new interpretation includes nazis as a collective that can be protected under this law
