At last Motril has a decent roundabout at the first entrance to Al Campo coming from the Salobreña direction, instead of the half-hearted affair that we have now.
Of course, in order to build a ‘real’ roundabout, there will be traffic restrictions starting this Monday coming, which will be the following: traffic wanting to reach the N-340 will not be able to use the Candelón, but instead will have to use the port road via Ronda Sur or Avenida de Nuestra Señora de la Cabeza .
Furthermore, Calle Parías closed in the Avenida Europa direction meaning that traffic will be detoured along Calle Lisboa. In other words; you can enter the town from the N-340 at the western junction, but not leave by it.
We will still have that bloody-awful excuse for a roundabout as an entrance for the Burger King/Decathlon shopping complex, but as the Rolling Stones once put it, “You can’t always get what you want…”
