Alpujarra Hospital Progress?

naked and confused in orgivaThe Mayor of Órgiva, Raúl Orellana, attended a meeting in Sevilla with the Regional Board of Health over the promised area hospital.

The Head of the Health Board, Jesús Aguirre, assured him that the Regional Government had earmarked 480,000 euros from the 2020 annual budget. This amount won’t build a modern hospital, of course, but it is destined to finance the project being drawn up.

The Mayor appeared pleased as he announced, “This is a great day for the Alpujarra,” claiming that the proposed hospital would “stop being a long-standing lie by the socialists.”

Editorial comment: Bear in mind that the Mayor (PP) and the Junta (PP) are governed by the same party. Also bear in mind that the Minister for Public Health is the same man who failed to tackle the outbreak of listeria before it had claimed several lives. Lastly, a “promise” of half a million euros is not exactly a huge step forward as the Mayor is proclaiming.
