Fishermen working out of Motril port caught a monster tuna just off the Cabo de Sacratif. It was a bit of a struggle to get the 200-kilo fish into the boat as it wasn’t keen on the idea.

It was about four years ago that tunas were first spotted off the Costa Tropical but never of such an impressive size.

There are only three boats on our stretch of the coast that have a licence for fishing this sort of catch, as they have much smaller nets and tackle. They are allowed to capture up to 520 kilos a year.
