Workers from FCC, the municipal, cleaning company, found baggage containing firearms buried on San Cristóbal Beach.
The discovery was made under the Santo (Peñón), buried under the shingle and pebbles on Wednesday morning.
Within a backpack and suitcase were cartridges, a pump-action, shotgun, an assault rifles and an automatic pistol, all of which turned out to be replicas firearms used for Airsoft.
According to the Guardia Civil, the case and backpack had been stolen from a van on the 20th and the thieves had buried their loot in the before-mentioned location.
When the cleaners reported the find to the Guardia Civil, the police asked them to be discreet so as not to hinder the investigation, but they went ahead and uploaded the video onto social media anyway.
However, despite this public disclosure of the find, the Guardia Civil are investigating a 20-year-old suspect.
